Such a spectacular sports yacht, I had the pleasure of viewing it in May at Sanctuary Cove and was thoroughly impressed both by the boat and all the terrific people who represented Riviera from the apprentices all the way to senior managers

Hope that someday, I can be a Riviera owner once again. Just loved my 1999, 48 ft. Riviera: took Australian delivery! From Sept. to December, my crew and I motored up and down the Australian coast from the factory at Coolangatta, AU to the Lockhart River Delta in Northern AU, anchoring at Lizard Island, AU on the Great Barrier Reef. The first year after going up and down the AU coast, I shipped it over to NZ for the America's Cup Races, Jan. to Feb. 2000, then back to AU. The second year I added a Marlin tower for the Black Marlin Catch and Release tournament at Lizard Island, AU, Great Barrier Reef. I caught and released three Black Marlin in one day, a 350 lb, a 650 lb. and an 850 lb.! It was a dream come true with the late Capt. Jeff Ferguson and his wife, Tricia as crew. Richard Boland, Yacht Sales Broker in Alameda, CA, helped make it all happen. Wonderful memories, thank you, Riviera!

With the range of the Rivieras you actually need to refuel twice just to make Whitsundays from Gold Coast a 58 SMY uses 8000 litres at 17 knots from Southport to Hamilton island. When are they going to actually make a serious long range vessel ? actual 10-12 knots for 600 + Nm which should be bare minimum. It's kind of ridiculous how poor their range is.
